Harbourcruise

In my work, I use slides mostly not in the sense of a photographic work, but more in the material sense. I re-use found materials, such as newspapers, food, plants or different slim materials.

For the series “Harbourcruise”, I took walks through the Hambur Harbour and collected flyers, leaflets and advertisements about the Harbour. I cut out little pieces of those papers, let them soak in oil for several hours and finally put them in slide frames. Through the enlargement of the projection and the opacity of the paper, they form new, partly abstract images, that show the structure of the paper and remind more of paintings than of photographs.
