Paradise Lost – Utopia and Metropolis

Humanity long desired the paradise, the mystical place from which they feel exiled and where they long to return. John Milton was not the only one who described the painful loss in his epic of the same name, Paradise Lost, the longing for the return haunts the dreams and wishes of Mankind, often via Religion and seen as the ultimate goal for righteous behavior. The mythical or religious paradise are desirable goals for humans as well as the (ideological) research and search for “ideal” places that are believed to be lost such as Atlantis, Ur of the continent Mu. What type of dreams, wishes and hopes are behind these utopias, these ideals and hence these goals of Mankind?
